Employee assessment software is technology that helps an organization determine to what degree a job candidate is a match for an open position.

Employee assessment software is an an application program or suite of application programs that help an organization decide whether a job candidate is well-suited for an open position. 

While some assessments gauge a candidate's cultural fit with the company or their personality traits, others focus on skills or critical knowledge. The system then compares answers to an ideal set of scores and ranks the candidate accordingly.

Assessments can be customized to incorporate questions specific to an organization and the role the candidate is expected to play in the organization's success. While most employee assessment software packages include a generic built-in profile that companies can use, the more customized the profile is to the specific role being filled, the more effectively the assessment software can predict the candidate's success or failure.
